Hey there. My name is Jackie Armstrong.
I am on a quest for inner peace, purpose and love.
Welcome to my website. I intend to share my life stories and experiences with you via blog posts and videos in the hope they help and inspire you in some way. Whether you are someone who has experienced stillbirth first-hand, or someone who is interested in nourishing your mind, body and spirit – I welcome you all with open arms!
I believe in truth; in speaking it, living it and sharing it with the world. I also believe in the power of storytelling.
What brings me here? On 25 February 2014, I gave birth to our first child – Jack Tiran Armstrong. Jack was stillborn at 23 weeks 6 days. Losing our first baby over half way through my pregnancy was a gift from the universe that completely brought me to my knees.
In the moments when I was on the ground, I discovered a few home truths and realised a few things about myself. Things like:
1. I am capable of so much more than my mind gives me credit for. In those moments of complete surrender, I found and felt an inner strength I wasn’t aware of previously.
2. Every one of us is a MIRACLE. Seriously.
3. I have an unhealthy urge to control almost everything in life; relationships, money, career, the future – you get the point right? It’s time for me to loosen the reigns!
4. LOVE. Its real and its powerful. The search for love starts with me.
And so begins my quest for inner peace, purpose and a life filled with love.
Some random truth bombs about me:
+ I LOVE 90’s RnB music.
+ I am lover of the outdoors – the bush and the beach.
+ I am dangerously quirky when let loose near small puppies – I love the smell of their breath.
+ I LOVE to dance. I think I am pretty good but maybe that’s questionable considering I get feedback like: “Jackie, you are the best daggy dancer!” WTF?
+ I like to get crafty and make stuff. I don’t have a specific craft; I just love the act of making something from nothing and using my intuition as my Navman.
+ Food makes me happy. When I am not happy I am usually hungry or as my hubby likes to call it: HANGRY.
